Systems

Understanding the need to be aware of, and in full conformance with, all applicable fire-related regulations, codes and standards (as defined by the “authority having jurisdiction” or other influences) is an absolute necessity here at Brentons Fire Protection. We offer assistance, guidance and all the products and services to ensure full compliance, and the ability to document and prove it.

Project designs are based on the National Fire Protection Association Standards (NFPA), National, Provincial building codes and manufacturers listings (ULC, UL, and FM). All systems are then installed, commissioned and maintained in accordance with ULC applicable standards.

Don Brenton’s Fire Protection has the solution for just about any fire protection requirement. We represent some of the leaders in the industry in engineered and pre-engineered fire suppression systems.

We are an authorized distributor of Kidde Fire Systems, Kidde Canada (Pyrene) and Chemetron clean agent fire suppression systems. Our people are factory-trained in the design, installation, and service of these systems.

Here is a sampling of the some of the types of fire suppression system products we have available. Allow us the opportunity to offer you custom solutions to your fire protection concerns.

Hi-Fog Systems

Marioff is a leading provider of water mist fire protection on land and at sea. Their HI-FOG® Water Mist Fire Protection System is installed on almost every large cruise ship in the world.

HI-FOG® controls, suppresses and extinguishes fires by discharging a fine water mist at high velocity. The water mist is made by the system when it activates: it pushes the plain, potable water at high pressure through specially designed, patented HI-FOG® sprinkler and spray heads. The water mist is discharged at high velocity by high-pressure pumps or accumulators.

Clean Agent Systems

Novec 1230 fire suppression fluid is a new clean agent introduced by 3M and commercially available in fire suppression systems. Novec 1230 fluid is a highly efficient clean extinguishing agent designed for special hazard applications.

It has zero ozone depletion potential and the lowest atmospheric lifetime for halocarbon alternatives – just 5 days! The closest alternative is 33 years. Novec 1230 has a Global Warming Potential of just 1 which is equivalent to the GWP of naturally occurring carbon dioxide. It provides the greatest margin of safety for use in occupied spaces versus competitive products.

Novec 1230 fluid suppresses fires via its cooling affect. With the NOAEL (No Observable Adverse Effect Level) measured at 10%, Novec 1230 fluid provides a substantial margin of safety in occupied spaces.

Although stored in a liquid form, Novec 1230 fluid will turn to a gas upon discharge making it an effective total flooding agent for a variety of hazards. As a clean agent, it leaves no residue behind and will not affect sensitive high-value electronics.

Novec 1230 fluid is not covered by the Kyoto Protocol, nor is it a HFC. It is a sustainable, long-term technology that has been created for life … protecting the lives of your people, protecting the life of your equipment, protecting the environment.

FM-200 Systems

Environmentally-friendly. The preferred fire suppression system for vital facilities that can’t afford fire-related business interruption of process controls, automated industrial operations, robotics, etc. FM-200 systems are active on fire, but inert on people; non-toxic when used per NFPA Standard 2001. FM-200 systems provide safe, no-residue protection for Class A, B and C fires. Every FM-200 system checked for design accuracy. These systems are designed for maximum protection with minimum hardware; less space, lower cost.

Applications include:

  • Data Processing Centers/ Telephone Switches
  • Process Control Rooms
  • Art and Historical Collections
  • Facilities where water damage from sprinklers must be avoided at all costs

The ADS Series FM-200 System is an advanced system innovation developed by Kidde engineering to provide economic protection for larger enclosures requiring longer agent flow distances. FM-200 Systems provide active fire protection that works automatically and stays on duty around the clock. In addition, the ADS offers an increased performance such that is deemed a virtual “drop-in” replacement for existing halon installations—in most cases changes are limited to replacement of agent storage cylinder and nozzles. Ideal for protection of large telco and internet systems.

Carbon dioxide systems are recommended for protection of unoccupied facilities. These systems are economical, computer-designed and engineered; using total flooding, hand hose line and/or local application. CO2 systems are the most technologically advanced CO2 fire suppression systems available. Colorless, odorless and electrically nonconductive. Rapid cleanup equals minimal downtime. Some of the hazards protected using CO2 are: Flammable liquid storage, Printing presses, Mixing Operations, Spray Booths, Industrial Ovens, Dust Collectors, Paint Lockers and Marine Applications.

Pre-Engineered Systems

Wet Chemical Systems provide 24-Hour automatic or manual protection for commercial cooking areas; ducts, plenums, hoods and cooking surfaces. Wet chemical agent designed for quicker flame knockdown and faster suppression. Our systems exceed stringent UL 300 standard and they comply with NFPA Standards 96 and 17A. These systems offer unmatched coverage, with fewer discharge nozzles and flow points, meaning reduced installation time and cost.

Combining the extinguishing power of dry chemical (Class A, B and C fires), with proven engineering designs. Industrial Dry Chemical Systems protect a wide variety of industrial applications (i.e., paint spray booths, mechanical rooms, flammable liquid storage areas), using Class ABC or Class BC dry chemical. These systems can be found riding along on many off-road and commercial vehicles; while protecting the gas station filling areas they frequent. Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic detection options. The dry chemical systems we carry are UL & ULC Listed, and Factory Mutual approved.
